Head of Programmatic & Data - APAC

Dan Robins is ANZ Head of Programmatic & Data at Spotify in a role which sees him building and executing Spotify's automated ad trading products across the region as well as working with advertisers on data targeting and segmentation.   


Previous to Spotify Dan spent a decade in agencies, most recently at OMD Australia where was Head of Interactive. This role saw him lead the 65 person-strong, Sydney digital offering serving diverse clients such as Telstra, Qantas, TABCORP and McDonalds across all facets of digital marketing plus working with clients on their technology and data projects.


Dan joined OMD from Carat in London where he had been Head of Search, having started his career at SEM specialist The Search Works. During his time at Carat, he was awarded with multiple industry awards for his work on Vodafone’s innovative online-to-store tracking methodology. Previous experience is slanted to direct response media, though his media agency career at Carat and OMD he has expanded his experience to cover all corners of digital, having always had an interest in how technology can drive efficiency and effectiveness. In his 4.5 years at OMD since moving to Sydney, Dan held roles covering both Search and wider Performance digital, the latter covering the development of Telstra’s award-winning Always-On program - Australia’s first trading desk built specifically to service a specific client for programmatic, data-driven marketing.


In recent times Dan has been a leading voice on the “hot topics” of ad fraud, viewability and verification, looking to drive education and change in the space while also building education in the often complex areas of programmatic and data-driven marketing.


Dan is a regular contributor to industry bodies the MFA and IAB and consistent speaker and writer on industry issues.
